Nickson lives with her foster mother, he was rescued when she found him abandoned in a river next to where she was staying at birth. She reported the matter to the concerned administrative organ but they were reluctant to help her and since the baby had been in water for sometime and the umbilical cord had not been cut, he had to be rushed to hospital after they cut the umbilical cord.

She decided to take matters on her own hands and took in the baby and stayed with him, her in laws didn’t take this gesture kindly and when her husband passed away she was thrown out of her matrimonial home and all her property was confiscated by her relatives. She tried to seek legal advice but they have been very slow and she was forced to move in with her friend. She has been in and out of rental houses because she can’t pay rent and at this moment she is also ailing and she is bedridden. Food has been a problem in this household but since Nickson and Sarah(Rael’s daughter) are in our OVC programme we try where we can but still when they go back home sometimes they go without food.
